All Tickets for The Hammerstime event have now been claimed. It is possible to join the Waitlist if any tickets are returned ahead of the event. Our thanks to everyone who has registered & we look forward to seeing you at Thurrock Hotel on the 1st of February.
Thurrock Hammers Limited are proud to present Hammerstime, a night of conversation with past and present Hammers legends.
The event, which will take place in the Belmont Suite at the Thurrock Hotel on the 1st of February 2020, brings together the past and the future of the club, with Hammers legends Ian Humphreys and Andrew Silver joined by former Hammer, British Champion and recently announced Poole Pirates captain Danny King, recent Hammers star Ben Morley and future star Jason Edwards.
To commence proceedings, Thurrock Hammers Directors Mark Sexton, Russell Keetch and Ian Smalley, along with consultant Brian Connolly, will provide fans with an update on the campaign to return the club and speedway to Thurrock.
Ian Jordan, Director of the club’s Associate Sponsor, SP2A Speedway will talk along with the Directors, about the clubs aims and plans to help keep the Hammers on track next season as a nomadic team.
Raceway announcer Andy Young will then take to the stage to interview Danny, Ben and Jason including taking questions from the audience, before Ian Humphreys and Andrew Silver will then re-live their time as Hammers with tales and their views of the sport with a final question and answer session rounding off the evening.
In addition, Jason Edwards speedway bike will be present for fans to have their photograph taken on, whilst Re-Run Productions will have Hammers and general speedway DVDs for sale.
The Hammers also aim to have a range of merchandise and prints available for viewing and orders, whilst a raffle will take place to raise funds for supporting the team on track in 2020.
Thanks to the generosity of M Shuttlewood Ltd, who are kindly sponsoring the evening, entry to the event is free of charge and a free drink from the licenced bar will also be provided.
Hammers Director Russell Keetch commented:
“We felt it was important to hold an event for the Hammers fans, to provide an opportunity to update everyone on the current situation with our campaign, and our plans for the future and importantly, to give fans the chance to meet up with old acquaintances.
We wanted to make the night extra special, rather than just a standard fans forum, so we were delighted when Ian, Andrew, Danny, Ben and Jason all immediately volunteered to get involved.
We would also like to thank Ian Jordan for his commitment to the club and are looking forward to hearing our very own Andy Young take to the mike, in what we hope will be a very special evening.
The event is ticket only, with initially a limit of two tickets per order due to the venue capacity.
Doors open at 7pm, with the event commencing at 7.30pm.
