The 19-year-old from Deeping St James, who joins the Sussex Club after previous spells with MSDL teams The Milton Keynes Knights, and the Weymouth Wildcats, commented:

“I am truly excited to be joining the Eastbourne Seagulls Powered by Save Thurrock Hammers Speedway, in their first MSDL campaign.

I have been very impressed by how serious and professional they are treating the MSDL.  They have set the bar high, and I hope I can score points to re-pay their faith and to give the fans at Arlington something to enjoy”.

The Seagulls Team Manager Mark Sexton commented “We are delighted to bring James on board with the Seagulls.

He’s a bright young man, who brings good experience of this league to the table, and we’re expecting him to contribute a lot in terms of points on the track and positivity in the pits.

James, who will be talking about his signing with the Seagulls today on Chesil Radio at around 6pm (click here to launch) is the first of the current Seagulls squad of five riders to be announced.

The Midland Southern Development league rules allow a squad of up to 6 riders, with The Seagulls MSDL meetings taking place following the main Championship action at Arlington.
